CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Dance Fitness Class

Cardio fitness is the main goal of Cathy's class.  She uses low-impact, high-calorie-burning routines to raise the heart rate to its target zone and maintain it for 30 minutes.  The total workout ends with sculpting via free weights or bands followed by slow stretching.

CARDIO (45 minutes)
Simple routines to fabulous music: swing, salsa, tango, jazz, rock, pop, Motown, Broadway and Bollywood.

SCULPTING (10 minutes)
Streamlines and defines the muscles of the arms, legs, buttocks, thighs and stomach.
STRETCHING (5 minutes)
Lengthens muscle while the body is warm.

*Appropriate attire for this class: workout pants, tee shirts and walking shoes.

Cathy RiceTap Class

There is nothing more fun than learning to tap dance. Pounding out rhythms with our feet is a basic instinct that has been in our bodies since man's earliest beginnings.

Cathy offers tap classes at both beginner and intermediate levels. Class begins with a warm-up followed by the introduction of new moves and review of past ones. Class ends with a tap combination which gives students the thrill of performing.
